The "Sword Handle" or "Double Cluster in Persues" is one of the most superb clusters for a low power eyepiece. Moderately rich, they are visible to the naked eye below Cassiopeia. Each mass of suns is larger in apparent width than the full moon. A bright red star is visible in NGC 869, the slightly richer of the two. It is a shame that few eyepieces can show both clusters in their entirety in the same field of view.
