This planetary lies along the ecliptic in the constellation of Ophiuchus. It is small and dim, and the fact that it lies low on the southern horizon makes it difficult to spot due to low lying haziness. From New York it can never be seen against a perfectly dark background. Although the central star is too dim to spot in a 6-inch (at magnitude 16.6), the core appears to be brighter than the rest. This nebula reminds me of a grease stain in the sky.
